Hi, I’m Maxim — a photographer based between Bude, North Cornwall and London.
Bude Surf Images is where I focus on the coastline I know best — documenting the changing light, heavy winter swells, and the people who spend their lives in the water here. My approach is shaped by my wider work in commercial and portrait photography, bringing a clean, detailed, and intentional style into every surf image I shoot.
My work has been featured by brands including Volcom and Monster Energy, as well as in surf publications & magazines such as Carve, Wavelength and Crush, alongside collaborations with Surfline. I also work with some of the UK’s leading surfers and surf brands bringing a strong understanding of both performance and visual storytelling to every project.

Pricing
I work in partnership with OA and Big Blue Surf Schools, with all surf photography booked directly through me. Session pricing for surf school clients is listed here and applies to anyone attending lessons (both private & group) with either school and would like professional coverage of their session.
These sessions are built to capture your session — whether that’s your first waves, progression, or simply a solid surf. Images are delivered with a clean, professional finish, consistent with the standard seen across Bude Surf Images. Alongside surf school sessions, I also offer fully bespoke shoots for individuals, surfers, and brands. This can include shooting at specific breaks across Cornwall, throughout the UK, or internationally where required. From single sessions to larger commercial projects, each shoot is planned around conditions, location, and the overall brief.
All custom work is quoted on a project basis, taking into account travel, shoot duration, and usage. If you’re looking for something more tailored, feel free to get in touch to discuss your ideas and I can put together a quote that fits.

Surf School - One Person
A dedicated session focused on one surfer, covering the full experience from arrival and warm-up through to time in the water. You’ll receive approximately 10–20 professionally edited images (often more), capturing your waves, progression, and key moments.

Surf School - Two Persons
A shared session for two surfers within the same lesson, ideal for friends, couples, or family. Each person is captured individually and in the group throughout the session, with approximately 10–20 edited images per person (often more).

Surf School - Groups up to Eight
Group coverage capturing the full session, from the beach to the water. A mix of individual and group moments, with approximately 10–20 professionally edited images per person (often more). Contact me for larger groups.
